Tempest Launches 4th Generation Projector Enclosures

  • PDF

Tempest

Does your customer need salt fog filtering for its projectors? That got your attention.

Seven years of technological evolution culminates in Tempest’s fourth generation of projector enclosures that safeguard valuable projectors from environment. And salt fog filtering can be found as a standard on one enclosure model in the range (probably because the California based Tempest has experienced what the seaside can do to projectors, just like other experiences the company has accumulated.)

To be unveiled at InfoComm, this modular G4 range (Blizzard, Whispr, Typhoon, Cyclone and Tacit product families), lets your customers tackle any projector environment-- from harsh outdoor environments to whisper quiet indoor spaces.

“The G4 range highlights why we lead the way in projector enclosure technology,” says Tim Burnham, Tempest’s President. “Through seven years of development, we have constructed thousands of enclosures which have been employed in all climates across the globe, and we’ve learned a huge amount in the process. G4 enclosures are the product of that learning experience – a reliable modular solution, developed to replace all our existing enclosure types and deal with every customer application. Whatever the requirement – portrait or landscape, outdoor or indoor, rental or fixed, freezing or hot temperatures, standard or custom enclosure sizes….”

Featuring Goldilocks OS technology to prevent overheating and deadly condensation, the G4 enclosures are now smarter than ever. The latest models have been upgraded across the range, with features including variable speed AC fan control, USB diagnostics and firmware update capabilities, and optional RS485 and Ethernet connectivity, web-based remote monitoring coming soon.

The Tempest G4 range of protective projector enclosures:

Blizzard G4 outdoor enclosures are now fully stackable, with three sizes capable of housing projectors up to 15k lumens. Blizzard houses 5-7k, 7-10k, and 10-15k lumens projectors.

Whispr is the choice for when you need to kill intrusive noise. Whispr features noise attenuation, making it perfect for quiet indoor environments, such as educational spaces. Whispr is also available in 5-7k, 7-10k and 10-15k sizes.

Tacit builds on Whispr, for projectors from 20k-45k lumens, with the same unrivalled noise attenuation as Whispr. Tacit models are projector-specific, and feature front or rear projector slide access for easy installation and maintenance.

Typhoon G4 is the premium rental and staging projector enclosure for outdoor events, tours and shows. Typhoon models cover most popular rental projectors, including Christie M-Series, Roadster and Boxer, Barco HDX and HDF, and Panasonic PT-D21K. The stackable Typhoon boasts many rigging options for installation flexibility, as well as optional thermal insulation for additional protection in extreme outdoor environments.

Cyclone G4 outdoor enclosures are also projector-specific, with models available for all business and cinema projectors up to 45K. The hugely popular model now offers salt fog filtering as standard, with additional optional features including Ethernet connectivity and remote monitoring service.

We began this article with a comment about salt fog filtering to get your attention. Let’s end it the same way. Think about World Cup time around Europe when hundreds (maybe thousands) of projectors are set up at seaside in outdoor bars, bistros and special venues

V-Towers, Portable LED Screen Support

  • PDF

The V-Tower is a four-legged, insect-looking video tower --and when completely erected, the bottom of the screen can reach as high as 3 meters (10 feet).

V-Towers

At almost 2 meters (6.5 ft) high and 78.7cm (31 inches) wide in its stowed position, the V-Tower’s small footprint allows for standard doorway entries and can even fit the ride on elevators. It probably fits into spaces you probably never thought of putting an LED screen.

Designed for easy set up (about 8 minutes), it’s used in USA mainly for the rental and staging industry. “It’s important to remember V-Towers were not created to replace mega screens. It’s a portable LED screen support system that opens up new possibilities,” says the maker, Upstage Video.

The maker suggests you use it at concerts and festivals, parades and rallies, TV broadcasting, experiential marketing events—and outdoor events. For example, in Europe when World Cup season comes and everyone is rolling out screens.

Edbak Brings New Products-- and a Taste of Poland to ISE 2016

  • PDF

Edbak TotemLocation, location, location.

You often hear this praise for geography in retail and other customer facing industries. Why should it be any different for the makers of those universally-in-demand display & projector mounts, video wall mounts, totems, stands and carts?

Certainly one ISE exhibitor is very proud of the advantages of its location. Edbak often cites its factory base of Poland as one of the main reason for its success.

It's not just that Poland is known for its industriousness and work ethic-- or for its affordable manufacturing base. More important is the central location in Europe that gives it easy access to most of Europe.

Edbak Stand

The combination of factors gives Edbak an ability to attract customers looking for European quality and tired of Asian or intercontinental shipping costs.

Unlike importers, Edbak is a manufacturer (ISO9001 certified ISO9001 by TUV Rheinland) and therefore can offer the services of its in-house R&D department in Poland to design bespoke solutions (using Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks 3D designing software). They even have an in-house testing laboratory with CMM machines.

It's 11 years for Edbak with appearances at ISE, and the company is exhibiting with its largest stand ever.

On the new Edbak stand, Hall 1-N120, Edbak will be showing its wide range of video wall mounts, tablet stands, display stands & carts, pin pad mounts and newly-designed totems—looking for international distributors and integrators who want to represent the brand.

Edbak is constantly innovating, so you can find unique designs for totems, videoconferencing trolleys, or its pop-out large multi-screen video wall mount (also tested by TUV Rheinland laboratory and awarded what the company believes is the industry’s only product safety certificate for this category of product).

Edbak range

But one can’t underestimate the attraction of product customization. Corporate buyers appreciate tablet stands that bear their own beloved logos. Service companies like the fact that their trolleys can bear a brand. Edbak promotes this service, along with the fact this work requires close collaboration with clients—the type of service where Europeans who understand the local markets make better communicators and collaborators.

The only location that Edbak values almost as much as its national one is perhaps its place in Hall1…the most-coveted of all RAI halls and distinguished with the presence of many of the most important companies in the industry.

Find your way there and you’ll find Edbak treating the industry press to…you guessed it, a bag of authentic Polish drinks and snacks that reflect Edbak’s heritage. Let’s call it “a taste of Poland.”

Wize Airport

With their range of mounting solutions for audio-video installations, Wize is flying high with success in the airport vertical.

What does it take to crack the airport market? According to Eric Backus, Sales & Marketing Director at Wize, “Quality, reliability, pleasant appearance, safety of application in crowded places… and the ability to install displays and panels at any height and angle, with the possibility of combining them into video walls of various configurations and the ability to create almost unlimited digital signage systems.”

The range of solutions is one of the more important factors.

For the equipment of arrivals and departures, Wize offers wall multi-display Menu Board systems (WMP47/WML47, WMP55/WML55, WMP65/WML65). These mounts are used with 40” to 65” diagonals displays and panels in landscape or portrait orientation. The mounts provide possibility of post-installation 15° forth and 5° back tilt. Securing screws locks release latch ensure safety and theft protection.

The check-in area is the most important area in the airport. This is the place where passenger starts his journey and it is important to give him the correct information from the very first minute at the airport. The information should be as easy for access as possible from any point in the room. As a solution for these purposes Wize offers CML and ?MP series ceiling in-line multi-display systems* for 26” to 65” diagonal displays with back-to-back configuration.

Wize Airport 2

Check-in desks are usually equipped with small single displays that can be both wall- or ceiling-mounted. For the wall method of installation it is supposed to use Wize T37 tilting mounts for 13" to 37" displays. If the installation of a larger display is needed, Wize T46 tilting mount would be in point.

Low-profile Wize T37 and Wize T46 mounts can to be mounted at 4 cm distance from the wall and adjusted of 15° forward and 5° back for a variety of viewing angles. Makes a secure installation quick and easy, simply hang the screen and turn the pre-assembled securing screw to lock in place.

For the ceiling installation, Wize offers C3760A, C3736A, C37XT, C6360A mounting kits for 13” to 63” diagonal displays. These kits include VESA screen adapter, adjustable extension column and structural ceiling adapter for mounting on a single joist. Continuous tilt of 20° forward, 360° rotation, possibility of landscape or portrait orientation provide perfect screen positioning. Ceiling mount kit Wize C37XT also has possibility of 90° extreme tilt which allows to mount the display perpendicular to floor. Wize C37XT can mount the display to the false ceiling.

In meeting points, lounge areas, QSR and restaurants, shops it is convenient to use ceiling mount systems for 2 to 4 displays. In this case Wize product line offers DS63, DSD63 and DSM63 premium mounts as a solution. Despite the flight information, these mount systems are also useful for advertisement.

Wize DS63 is a dual screen ceiling mounted monitor system for 37 to 63" displays in portrait and landscape orientation. Smooth tilt adjustment of 15° forward and 5° back for a variety of viewing angles. Ceiling mounted monitor system DSD63 for 4 32"–63" displays consists of two dual back to back universal assemblies mounted vertically above one another. Kit includes extension column and heavy duty structural ceiling interface. Each assembly of DS63 and DSD63 may be rotated 360º about the extension column and tilted up to 15°, to achieve any required angle.

DM63 is a ceiling kit for mounting 4 37"-63" displays. Includes four mounting modules, pipe drop and heavy duty ceiling adapter.DSM63 provides a perfect view from any point in the room.

Duty free shops, bars and restaurants often use video walls for advertising which contribute to airport profit.

Flexible Wize solutions can be used as any existing type of video wall: ceiling mounted (VWC47, VWC60), wall mounted (VW46G2, VWP46G2), floor to wall mounted (VWFW47, VWFW60), floor to ceiling mounted (VWFC47, VWFC60). Premium quality modular video wall constructions for 40” – 60” make selection of video wall solution quick and easy. To complete the solution you just have to know diagonal of the displays.

Floor to wall (VWFW47, VWFW60) and floor to ceiling (VWFC47, VWFC60) video wall systems give a possibility to mount almost unlimited quantity of displays. Constructions are flexible to adjust (vertically, horizontally, forth and back). VWC, VWFC and VWFW also have a possibility of lateral shift with the help of adjustable length extension columns which makes the installation easier and allows using one video wall in different installations with displays of different sizes.

Multifunctional wall systems VW46G2 and VWP46G2 can be used for video walls of any configuration, even irregular ones. They are usually used for creative design purposes, for example, as art objects, that more often can be found in airports. The unique Push in – Pop out™ technology allows a single display to be accessed without any disruption to the rest of the matrix.

When installation on the wall or ceiling is not possible (or for informing passengers about goods and services in small restaurants and shops), Wize offers airports its heavy duty mobile cart Wize M90 for LCD displays larger than 60”. Due to an advanced adjustment system, Wize M90 provides optimum view and moves easily on any surface.

All the Wize mounts and kits include pre-sorted hardware pack, integrated cable management and provide easy installation and possibilities of post-installation adjustments without the use of tools.

New Extendable Ceiling Mounts from Peerless-AV

  • PDF

Peerless-AV

Peerless-AV offers a new line of ceiling mounts for flat panel displays and projectors.

“Our new ceiling mounts are particularly suited to settings previously regarded as unsuitable for display and projector solutions because use of nearby walls is problematic,” says Gordon Dutch, MD Peerless-AV. “Now installers and integrators can address the visual requirements of dental practises, healthcare facilities, retail stores, corporate meeting rooms and home theatres with ceiling mounts that enable flexible placement and deliver an attractive finish.”

The new line consists of the ST940-EXA/B/C(-W) SmartMount Ceiling Mounts, PJF3-UNV(-W) (Flush Mount) and PJF3-EXA/B/C(-W) SmartMount Projector Mounts and PRG3-EXA/B/C SmartMount Precision Gear Projector Mounts.

With features including light-weight column with three different extension lengths, tool-less height adjustment and internal cable management, the mounts are designed to be quick to install and easy to maintain in a wide range of architecturally-challenging applications.

Available in black or white finish, the ST940 mount series comes in three different length sizes: A (420-547mm), B (547-781mm), or C (757-1192mm), supporting displays up to 40" with a maximum load capacity of 25kg. The mount comes pre-assembled with a Hook-and-Hang system, tool-less height adjustable column, 20° tilt and 360° swivel making it easy to set up and maintain in any room. Landscape or portrait mounting options also increase installation versatility. The ceiling plate cover provides an attractive finish whilst concealing internal routing of cables.

The PJF3 series of ball-and-socket-style mounts for projectors up to 24.9kg has four extension lengths (Flush, A, B, or C) to choose from, allowing the projector to be placed anywhere between 330mm-1092mm from the ceiling. B-Tech’s New System X Range

  • PDF

BT8370

B-Tech International launches its full range of System X mounting solutions.

Mark Walker, global business development manager for B-Tech, says “System X has been purposely designed by our British engineers to make video wall assembly as hassle free as possible. For example; the fixable sliders running along a solid rail remove the requirement for numerous uses of the spirit level as integrators only need to level the main bar.”

He added: “This unique design also makes for easier menu board application, with any feasible screen configuration being possible…”

As an out-of-the-box video wall stand, the BT8370 is designed for the most common 2x2 and 3x3 video wall configurations, but, if needed, can easily be specified for screen permutations up to 6x4 displays.

With its premium aluminum finish, 8-point tool-less micro adjustments, and in-built cable management, it provides a stylish and reliable mounting solution for video wall screens of 46 to 60-inches.

B-Tech’s BT8371 mount offers all the style and features of the BT8370, but with the added benefit of being mobile, courtesy of its non-marking lockable castors.

BT8330

The growing trend for menu boards has been addressed with the BT8330 – a modular mounting system designed for menu board installations of any length. As part of the new System X range, the BT8330 can be used in thousands of different configurations and is available to users’ exact requirements by using the B-Tech online configuration tool.

Designed to work with B-Tech’s System 2 poles, the BT8330 provides a single row menu board solution wherever needed – whether that is suspended from airport ceilings or above counters of fast food restaurants. B-Tech’s rail mounted System X technology allows for portrait or landscape screen orientation.

Nick Spencer, Marketing Manager for B-Tech, said: “For me, the most exciting thing about System X is the opportunity for the range to develop further in the future. We are already working on additional off-the-shelf System X solutions for other markets, such as video conferencing, and we are confident that this is just the beginning of what will become an important mounting solution for a wide range of industries.”

Mark Walker added: “Digital signage continues to develop in almost every vertical market, and we have designed a product that we believe meets and exceeds those needs. The versatility of System X means it can be used in almost any application of 2 screens or more. Initial feedback from the industry has been excellent, with interest and forward orders for System X having far exceeded our ambitious expectations.”

A new online configurator tool from B-Tech instantly calculates requirements from more than 2000 System X configurations, and can be found on B-Tech’s website.

Made in Poland: An Edbak Interview

  • PDF

We interviewed Sales Director Gregory Bak about Edbak, the Polish manufacturer of mounts and more, a company now targeting international growth...

In Poland, your display & videowall mounts, kiosks and other AV products are found in airports...in sports stadiums, in shopping malls, in railway & underground stations, in power stations---even the office of the President. Tell us about your ambitions for the rest of Europe...
Edbak's Gregory Bak

True. Although we work in a very competitive market, other mounting solutions manufacturers are no match for us in Poland. Our great customer service, product quality and delivery terms speak to our partners more than anything else.

In the last two years, we have noticed significant increase of interest in our solutions from number of pro AV partners across the world. Some of which we have decided to sign distribution agreement with us.

You can see and buy our products in over 40 countries across the world through different channels (web stores, distributors, dealers).

Only recently Edbak has teamed up with such well recognized pro AV companies as Charmex (Spain), EAVS (France), Four Traders (Germany), Senetic (UK) or our newest partner – One Display Solution (Netherlands)  and its charismatic COO, Sebastiaan van Tongeren.

What products in your range would most likely be of international interest?

Amongst our products you can find video wall mounts, monitor trolleys and stands,TV brackets, desk mounts, indoor and outdoor enclosures and info kiosks, and our latest product group-- POS mounts, dedicated to retail chains.

But the three main groups of products that stand out the most are video wall mounts and our top seller VWPOP mount, our trolleys with most popular TR5 model, and our indoor totems which are setting new sales records every month.

Also our POS mounts are gathering great feedback and interest but it is too early to say if they will be as successful as we think they should become.

Edbak range

You are in a very competitive part of the AV business. How does your factory differentiate?
If I was to name only three things that make the difference I would need to say “people… people… and people.” We have a great team of professionals who do care about our partner’s businesses and about our good name.

AV world is rather small and we cannot afford to disappoint our partners if we want to stay in this business.

As we produce everything in our premises in Poland we can ensure really good delivery terms and production flexibility, which is really important when working with custom projects.  Our very modern, constantly modernized machine park and skilled personnel is what give us the necessary edge.

How important is customization in digital signage and other areas you compete in?

I think we can all agree that digital signage is mostly about customization and differentiation. Almost every project is a somehow different that the other. Dimensions, design, color schemes are really important when talking about enclosures and totems.

With video wall mounts it is very often that we need to adapt our product according to integrators or installers request and the situation they meet on site. It is not always cost efficient, but we do want to solve those issues for our partners. Having all production and design work done from our Polish headquarters allows us to be more flexible than our competitors.

What new developments do you have in the international arena?

We are currently in talks with some UAE, UK and US companies. And those directions are extremely important in our business development plan.

That does not mean that we are not looking to other markets as well and we are open for new propositions. So if I may, I would like to encourage any interested partners to give us a shout.
