B-Tech’s New System X Range

BT8370

B-Tech International launches its full range of System X mounting solutions.

Mark Walker, global business development manager for B-Tech, says “System X has been purposely designed by our British engineers to make video wall assembly as hassle free as possible. For example; the fixable sliders running along a solid rail remove the requirement for numerous uses of the spirit level as integrators only need to level the main bar.”

He added: “This unique design also makes for easier menu board application, with any feasible screen configuration being possible…”

As an out-of-the-box video wall stand, the BT8370 is designed for the most common 2x2 and 3x3 video wall configurations, but, if needed, can easily be specified for screen permutations up to 6x4 displays.

With its premium aluminum finish, 8-point tool-less micro adjustments, and in-built cable management, it provides a stylish and reliable mounting solution for video wall screens of 46 to 60-inches.

B-Tech’s BT8371 mount offers all the style and features of the BT8370, but with the added benefit of being mobile, courtesy of its non-marking lockable castors.

BT8330

The growing trend for menu boards has been addressed with the BT8330 – a modular mounting system designed for menu board installations of any length. As part of the new System X range, the BT8330 can be used in thousands of different configurations and is available to users’ exact requirements by using the B-Tech online configuration tool.

Designed to work with B-Tech’s System 2 poles, the BT8330 provides a single row menu board solution wherever needed – whether that is suspended from airport ceilings or above counters of fast food restaurants. B-Tech’s rail mounted System X technology allows for portrait or landscape screen orientation.

Nick Spencer, Marketing Manager for B-Tech, said: “For me, the most exciting thing about System X is the opportunity for the range to develop further in the future. We are already working on additional off-the-shelf System X solutions for other markets, such as video conferencing, and we are confident that this is just the beginning of what will become an important mounting solution for a wide range of industries.”

Mark Walker added: “Digital signage continues to develop in almost every vertical market, and we have designed a product that we believe meets and exceeds those needs. The versatility of System X means it can be used in almost any application of 2 screens or more. Initial feedback from the industry has been excellent, with interest and forward orders for System X having far exceeded our ambitious expectations.”

A new online configurator tool from B-Tech instantly calculates requirements from more than 2000 System X configurations, and can be found on B-Tech’s website.

Made in Poland: An Edbak Interview

We interviewed Sales Director Gregory Bak about Edbak, the Polish manufacturer of mounts and more, a company now targeting international growth...

In Poland, your display & videowall mounts, kiosks and other AV products are found in airports...in sports stadiums, in shopping malls, in railway & underground stations, in power stations---even the office of the President. Tell us about your ambitions for the rest of Europe...
Edbak's Gregory Bak

True. Although we work in a very competitive market, other mounting solutions manufacturers are no match for us in Poland. Our great customer service, product quality and delivery terms speak to our partners more than anything else.

In the last two years, we have noticed significant increase of interest in our solutions from number of pro AV partners across the world. Some of which we have decided to sign distribution agreement with us.

You can see and buy our products in over 40 countries across the world through different channels (web stores, distributors, dealers).

Only recently Edbak has teamed up with such well recognized pro AV companies as Charmex (Spain), EAVS (France), Four Traders (Germany), Senetic (UK) or our newest partner – One Display Solution (Netherlands)  and its charismatic COO, Sebastiaan van Tongeren.

What products in your range would most likely be of international interest?

Amongst our products you can find video wall mounts, monitor trolleys and stands,TV brackets, desk mounts, indoor and outdoor enclosures and info kiosks, and our latest product group-- POS mounts, dedicated to retail chains.

But the three main groups of products that stand out the most are video wall mounts and our top seller VWPOP mount, our trolleys with most popular TR5 model, and our indoor totems which are setting new sales records every month.

Also our POS mounts are gathering great feedback and interest but it is too early to say if they will be as successful as we think they should become.

You are in a very competitive part of the AV business. How does your factory differentiate?
If I was to name only three things that make the difference I would need to say “people… people… and people.” We have a great team of professionals who do care about our partner’s businesses and about our good name.

AV world is rather small and we cannot afford to disappoint our partners if we want to stay in this business.

As we produce everything in our premises in Poland we can ensure really good delivery terms and production flexibility, which is really important when working with custom projects.  Our very modern, constantly modernized machine park and skilled personnel is what give us the necessary edge.

How important is customization in digital signage and other areas you compete in?

I think we can all agree that digital signage is mostly about customization and differentiation. Almost every project is a somehow different that the other. Dimensions, design, color schemes are really important when talking about enclosures and totems.

With video wall mounts it is very often that we need to adapt our product according to integrators or installers request and the situation they meet on site. It is not always cost efficient, but we do want to solve those issues for our partners. Having all production and design work done from our Polish headquarters allows us to be more flexible than our competitors.

What new developments do you have in the international arena?

We are currently in talks with some UAE, UK and US companies. And those directions are extremely important in our business development plan.

That does not mean that we are not looking to other markets as well and we are open for new propositions. So if I may, I would like to encourage any interested partners to give us a shout.

A. True. Although we work in a very competitive market, other mounting solutions manufacturers can't match us in Poland. Our record of great great customer service, product quality and delivery terms create more partner loyalty than anything else.

Edbak announces availability of its 2015 catalogue of industry mounting solutions.

Edbak 2015 Catalogue

“Integrators love the catalogue because it shows various available products and solutions,” says Justin Peyton, European Sales Manager. “In some cases, our catalogue actually stimulates ideas that the integrators need to solve their mounting problems. They come back from a client meeting and flip through the catalogue to find an appropriate solution to a specific problem.”

Since 1992, Edbak has been solving mounting problems.  ISE 2015 was Edbak’s 10th appearance at the show.

Edbak is a leading designer and maker of AV mounting display solutions and accessories: their off-the-shelf range includes flat panel mounts, trolleys and stands, projector mounts, desktop and tablet mounts, kiosks and environmental enclosures.

Customers have included the office of Poland’s President as well as airports (such as Dublin and Warsaw), shopping malls (the famous Blue City in Warsaw), retail (including Tesco), transport (bus, railways and subways), stadiums (such as C&C Stadium Poznan) and corporates (one good example is Roche).

In addition, Edbak is specialized and experienced in bespoke solutions via a dedicated custom design service. Because of its location in central Europe, the company successfully competes in cost-effectiveness against Asian competitors.

“Edbak has introduced the latest automated machine technologies with traditional techniques in its ISO 9001 facilities, ensuring speed, flexibility and precision while retaining TUV certified product quality," notes Peyton.

Edbak: How Poland’s Quiet Competitor Found Its Niche

  • PDF

Warsaw Airport & Edbak ScreensOn arrival you’ll find their mounting solutions throughout Poland’s busiest airport, Warsaw’s Chopin, now the gateway to a growing Eastern Europe marketplace. You’ll also find their products in hotels, metro stations, shopping malls, educational establishments, banks, fast food restaurants and just about anywhere an AV mount, stand, trolleys, kiosk or video wall can be found.

And it’s not just Poland. Since 2001, Edbak's products have been shipped to over 45 countries through a growing network of distributors, resellers and OEMs. Edbak has been a steady, quiet competitor-- and all that is not going to change. You won’t see flashy show stands, publicity fireworks or other typical vendor braggadocio… this Polish company will continue to grow its business in the same steady way that built its European reputation and put their name on projects across the globe.

In the first half of 2014 alone, Edbak invested more than 2.5 million euro in new automated manufacturing equipment for their ISO 9001 facility. The new additional machinery allows them both to speed up the manufacturing processes and to bring down product costs for their customers. Instead of self-promotion and marketing, Edbak is investing in state of the art laser cutting, CNC machining, metal sheet bending and machine welding kit.

The moderation in the company´s commercial style is more a part of their manufacturing heritage than someone’s MBA strategy. Edbak started as a family business (and still is a family business with no outside investment), a family that works in metal. For 22 years, Edbak has embraced manufacturing and manipulating metal to create machine parts, industrial products and AV mounting.

Edward BakIn 1999, the company was initially requested to make AV mounting products for Schipol Airport as its first project and Edbak soon discovered they had a knack for it. As a young “hungry” company, they discovered in many cases they could manufacture product cheaper and faster than competition. Today with product costs continuing to rise in China, longer production and shipping times, Edbak says more customers are turning to them as a centrally located EU manufacturer and supplier.

[Photo Right: Edward Bak, President, in the metal-working factory with the latest technology ]

You could say Edbak “fell” into their niche, but the truth is it was more like a purposeful, dedicated walk. Edbak followed a clear path as soon as they realized they could manufacture and also prototype customized product with a fast turnaround and an acceptable market price. Edbak are a metal-working manufacturer making AV products; not an AV company trying to turn their hand to metal-working.

The path the company has followed is a two-lane road. Edbak has an extensive range of solutions for key installation purposes and these are in stock and available in volume. Or, just as easily, they are able to make exact dedicated customized solutions in small quantities.

Control room with Edbak monitirs

Pick a single word to describe their niche and it might be “flexible.” The company is as flexible as the metal they machine, bend, twist and shape to make useful AV products. And that’s a quality that customers put a premium on.

[Photo Left: Edbak provides video wall solutions for control rooms.]

In 2010, Edbak successfully diversified their product range and launched a range of indoor and outdoor kiosks and enclosures. Now with a full range of kiosks, they offer an all-encompassing make-your-own kiosk program. Customers are able to custom-build their preferences into the kiosk and choose from a number of metal or laminate finishes to ship efficiently within Europe

For 2014 Edbak have introduced new ranges of video wall, video conferencing and menu board and tablet solutions. As well as using their manufacturing experience, the new Edbak designs showcase some innovations to make installation easier as well lowering manufacturing costs for added affordability.

Edbak factoryEdbak is expanding its EMEA reach and looking to add new partners and OEMs. The nature of the pro AV business is that we are expanding, much like the Stephen Hawking universe, in many directions at the same time. Our product needs are getting bigger, smaller and more mobile all at the same time.

[Photo Right: Edbak builds customized solutions for many vertical markets]

In a world where customers will need even more and more sizes, shapes, and varieties, it’s not the one-size-fits-all companies that shout the loudest that wins.

The winner is more likely the competitor that says, “What would you like us to build for you today?”
