Extron DSC 301 HD

Extron Electronics introduces the DSC 301 HD a compact HDCP-compliant video scaler. This scaler has an HDMI input, configurable high resolution analog and composite video inputs, and an HDMI output.

Featuring an advanced scaling engine with 30-bit processing and 1080i de-interlacing, the DSC 301 HD handles output resolutions up to 1920x1200, including 1080p and 2K. It includes EDID Minder, automatic input switching, and simplifies system connections by embedding audio from one of the three stereo inputs onto the HDMI output. Designed for professional integration, the compact, low profile half-rack width enclosure enables simple and discreet mounting in many environments.

"The DSC 301 HD delivers high performance and a wealth of features at an economical price point," says Casey Hall, VP Sales and Marketing for Extron. "With its compact form factor, and compelling feature set, this scaler lends itself to basic applications calling for a three input switching scaler as well as more complex systems where multiple scalers are deployed into a large signal distribution system."

Extender Plus

Extron's new Extender Plus VGA and audio line driver with EDID Minder is a one input, one buffered output line driver that extends VGA-QXGA and HDTV component video along with audio signals up to 75 meters (250 feet).

Unbalanced computer stereo audio is converted to balanced, line level stereo audio to eliminate noise usually associated with unbalanced audio when distributed over long cable runs. It features EDID Minder, which automatically manages EDID communication between connected devices to ensure that the source powers up properly and reliably outputs content for display.

The Extender Plus is available in Decora-style and AAP form factors, providing convenient AV access and signal extension for a wide variety of environments.

In Store Radio (ISR)

Dension Audio Systems of Hungary enters the audio-over-IP market.

Throughout the development of the new audio distribution and monitoring platform, Dension used its massive automotive OEM industry experience, where Dension supplies several famous auto manufacturers (Lamborgini, Bentley, Porsche…just to name-drop a few).

The In Store Radio (ISR) family brings new control and quick handling experience. With the In Store Radio family, Dension aims to challenge such competitors as Streamit and Barix.

The product lineup contains stand-alone decoders with and without integrated mono and stereo amplifiers. The ISR family operates both in “Store and Forward”, streaming a/o offline mode, supported by failback options. The models contain internal storages from 4GB up to 64GB. The In Store Radio ( ISR ) family hardwares are manufactured in Dension’s own factory in Hungary.

Extron’s New Economical HDMI Twisted Pair Extender

Extron Electronics announces immediate availability of the DTP HDMI 230 twisted pair extender for transmission of HDMI, audio, and bidirectional RS-232 and IR control signals up to 230 feet (70 meters) over a single CAT 5-type cable.

The HDCP-compliant extender provides an economical and effective means for extending HDMI with embedded multi-channel audio from HDMI-equipped devices. In addition, the DTP HDMI 230 accepts analog stereo audio signals and digitizes them for simultaneous transmission over the same single twisted pair cable. Designed for extending HDMI, audio, and bidirectional control in space-challenged environments, the DTP HDMI 230 features compact enclosure sizes and remote powering.

It allows a direct connection from devices with an analog stereo audio output, such as desktop computers or laptops, and provides balanced and unbalanced audio output from the receiver. In addition, the DTP HDMI 230 continuously maintains DDC communication of EDID and HDCP between a source and display for reliable operation, ensuring direct compatibility and optimal signal transmission between devices.
